So this is the first post of my Beauty and Lifestyle Themed Posts, and I will be posting Beauty posts every Wednesday.
As my first post I will do my April Favourites. I know it's a little late in the month but I thought I would start these posts with something simple. So let's get straight into it!
Simple Day and Night Moisturiser
I love to make sure my face is moisturised, even though I have quite oily skin in my T-Zone, and I have found that the Simple brand has some amazing products which will not break me out or damage my skin in any way. The day cream is pretty thick and it has an SPF 15, which is amazing for days when i am not wearing makeup. It smells really nice, but not too potant which is great. And the night cream is thick too and it takes longer to soak into the skin. These products retail for £5.99 at Boots.
Makeup Gallery Nail Polish
I am not a nail polish snob at all. I love beautiful colours, But I am not the best at applying polish and I find having Psoriasis under my nails, the polish always chips after a few hours. So last time I was in Poundland I found some nail polishes in the makeup section, and I was drawn in by two colours which I had to buy. The first is ELECTRIC ORANGE, a Bright Orange obiviously. Being a redhead I love all things orange, but I realised that I didn't have a nail polish, being only £1.00 I had to have it. The next colour is PARMA VIOLET which is a beautiful lavender colour. First I love the name, Parma Violets are one of my favourite sweets, and secondly the colour is very meanigful to me as i painted my nails the same colour for my wedding. So I just had to have them. These polishes seem to dry pretty quick and have a nice shine to them, and I just think, you cannot go wrong with a nail polish for £1.00 each
Nivea Lip Butter - Vanilla and Macadamia
I love lip balms and I find that I always get chapped lips, so I think I have to always have one on hand wherever I am. When I last went to Boots I wanted to try something new, and that is when I found this lip butter. It's in a tin simular to Vasiline. But the scent is what grabbed me. The only way I can describe it is it smells like a Mr Whippy ice cream you can get from the Ice Cream Vans. I just had to have it. it's quite a big size and it lasts for quite a while if you use it like 2 times a day. Retails for £2.25 in Boots
Olbas Oil
I think this product is the love of my life. Ever since I was little I would use olbas oil when I had a cold. When I moved and became ill I found the need to use it more often. Now I have to use it to be able to sleep. What I will do is put a few drops of this onto the back of my pillow about 10 minutes before I go to sleep and then when I lay down to relax i will ingest the wondeful scent. I cannot use lavender scented 'sleep sprays' because I hate the smell. Olbas Oil has Clove oil, Menthol, Mint Oil ECT, and I find it is a very fresh and minty scent. I don't know if the scent makes me think of my mum or it just makes me feel safe, but who knows. You can also use it on a tissue to relieve blocked noses, or in the bath as a decongestant, or as a muscle rub. It is a very versitle product It retails for £4.35 in Boots.
Maybelline Dream Satin Liquid Foundation
I have had this product for a while, but I forgot about it, and then two weeks ago I looked for a slightly darker foundation in my collection, and I found this. I have this in the colour Ivory, which is slightly warmer than every other colour that i own. I apllied this in dots on my face, and then used the Real Techniques Complexion Sponge to blend out the product. This foundation is medium/full covorage, which I love, and it is a satin finnish, which gives the perfect combination on matte and dewy finnishes. It states that this product gives a 100% poreless effect. I have slightly large pores on my nose, and I use a pore reducing primer and then this product, and I did notice a differance, but it didn't look like it was airbrushed or anything. It lasts a long time. I would say about 10 hours or so. This product retails for £7.99 in Boots
MUA Spring Break Eyeshadow Palette
I have always loved MUA makeup ever since I started using cosmetics and I have a good few of their makeup palettes. But at the moment, their Spring Break Palette is perfect for spring and summer months. There is 12 shades, most of them are shimmer finnishes. and there are so many beautiful colours to create a soft brown and pink smokey eye. The shades range from light cream and browns, to pinks, mint green and purple. This is so amazing and the colours are so pigmented, and i use two of the colours with a little setting spray on my brush, and then dab it on my eyelid, and it almost creates a metallic or folied look, which is amazing for such an affordable palette. My favouite colours are Cherub (a light shimmery pink), Amber (a orange/ bronze colour) and Damson (a dark purple shade) This product retails for £4.00 at Superdrug.
MUA Bronzed Perfection Bronzer
Another MUA product, but like I said I have always liked their products and one of the best things are they are amazing products at such an affordable price. First of all it is a massive pan of bronzer, which is great and secondly the colour is the most amazing shade for my fair skin. I love to look sun kissed, but because I am so fair a lot of other bronzers look too orange or too muddy, but this bronzer is the perfect mix or orange shades and brown shades to give an awesome sun kissed look. I would say, that I prefer this product to Hoola, but sometimes I will use these together, and sometimes the MUA prouduct as a bronzer and then the Hoola product as a contour. It is a matte shade which is perfect because you can add your own amount of shimmer with a highlight. This product retails for £3.00 at Superdrug.
Rimmel Kate Moss Lipstick - 03, Rossetto
Rimmel Lipsticks are some of my favourites. I find they are so pigmented and last a good amount of time without being re-applied. This colour is simular to a Kylie Jenner colour, well on my fair skin, but people will medium or darker skin will find that this will look like a light nude shade. It's got a light orangey undertone, but nothing to obvious, and it is a matte/ satin finnish. I like nude colours on my skin tone. I think it compliments my skin the best. And this is my favourite colour at the moment. Sometimes I like to top this lipstick with Collection Creme Puff in Powder Puff. This lipstick retails for £5.49 in Superdrug
I really hope you enjoyed my first favourite post and I will continue to do favourites on the first Wednesday of every month. See you guys soon!
