So on Tuesday 24th March, my husband and I went to London to See my favourite band Train in concert. We had also booked a meal at TGI Fridays. All in all we had an awesome day planned.
First I am going to tell you a little bit about my love and connection to Train. I started to listen to them when i was about twelve. I instantly fell in love with their catchy tunes and relatable lyrics, but it wasnt until I was about fifteen and fell into the depths of depression that they really became a big part of my life. I would spend hours laying in bed listening to Train and i found that I really needed their music to get through the day. My depression got to the point when i actually thought about taking my own life. I would spend all day crying and listening to Train, and i truly believe that their music saved my life. I have been to see them three times now, and i find it both an amazing and emotional performance, because I think about how if it wasnt for their music, I wouldn't be where I am now.
So we left the house about 11am, and started our journey. My uncle lives in the outskirts of London, so we park there and then we get the tube to our destination. Because of my back we decided to just go from my uncles house to the O2 and then chill out until the concert. When we got to the O2 we were hungry so we went straight to TGI's. To start I had a peach cocktail, which had peach scnapps, organge juice and orange sherbert, it was frozen and then topped with cranberry juice. Delicious. My husband had a caramel milkshake, and we both had a coke too. For starters we both had Jack Daniels glazed chicken strips, topped with seasame seeds. I always have this when I go to TGI's, which isn't often but it's lovely. For main my husband had a steak with fries and vegetables, and i had grilled chicken and shrimp, which again I have every time I go here. I am a sucker for tradition. Then we both decided we wanted a coffee and a desert. Shane had apple waffle crunch which is delicious and my mothers favourite, and me being a chocoholic I had a chocolate fudge cake. It was amazing, but I was full to bursting.
We decided to have a walk around and go and see a few of the exhibitions they had going on just to pass the time. I also bought a top to remember the day! It got to 6.30pm and we qued up to get into the arena. We were one of the first in so that was great. We had pretty good seats. So at about 7.15 the concert started, the first act was Natasha North, I had never heard of her, but i adored her music and i have since downloaded her EP's. I really want you to check her out, here is a link to one of her songs. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=77HCtm4rteE. Next were The Magic Numbers. I had heard of them, but I only knew a few songs, they were really good, and I have downloaded some songs of theirs too. Here is a link to one of their songs. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UEoMt_xs9uY.
And then onto the main attraction, Train were amazing as i knew they would, they sang music from all of their albums. including some of my favourite songs like Hey Soul Sister, Drops of Jupiter and Angel In Blue Jeans. But the song that meant the most to me and my husband was Marry Me. We used this song at our wedding, and hearing them sing it live was an emotional experiance with tears shed. Here is a link to this amazing song. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ghZt2cILcCU
The concert in all was amazing and I would reccomend anyone to see them live! I just want to thank Train for making such and amazing concert. Thank-you for everything.
I hope you enjoyed this post and I have made a Vlog about our day too, which i will link here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ZZy8pB7YaI&feature=youtu.be
