In this post I will be going through the rest of the makeup I will be taking with me on holiday. During the day, I will not be wearing a lot of makeup, but I like to look polished during the evening.
The first thing I would suggest is to get an eye primer. With the hot and humid weather, you need something to keep all the eyeshadows in place, it also helps the colours you put on after pop.
I have been using the Body Shop Instablur eye primer for a while, and I think it works really well. My eye makeup seems to last all through the night. It's got a thick consistancy that blends beautifully into the skin. This product retails for £10 at The Body Shop
With the hot weather i like using eyeshadow sticks, they are beautifully pigmented and they also create a great base for other eyeshadows. I have a few of the Kiko Eyeshadow Sticks and I think they work amazingly well, and I would reccommend them to anyone looking for a long lasting cream to powder eyeshadow. I love the colours Pearly Quartz Rose, Golden Beige, Bright Ivory and Golden Chocolate. These retail for £3.40 at Kiko.
After the base I would use only two other eyeshadow colours, one for the crease and another for the outer corner, to create a little definition. The Kiko eyeshadows are amazingly pigmented, but they are also so affordable. The colours I think I will be taking with me are Pearly Cocoa, Pearly Copper, Matte Orange and Satin Wood Brown. These retail for £1.40 each! which is mind blowing for how good these are.
I like to put a little flesh coloured eyeliner on my bottom waterline, and a little black eyeliner on my top waterline, i think this makes the eyes look more awake and also makes the lashes look thicker, I would use the Sleek Eyeliner Pencils in Melba and Noir, these retail for £4.99 at Superdrug.
Then lastly for eye makeup is mascarra. I am not a fan of high end mascarras, so my favourite at the moment is the Loreal Volume Million Lashes in Waterproof Black. These make my lashes look long and thick and it also lasts for a long time. You will be able to wear this to the beach, or to the pool without any smudging.
And then onto lip products. I like to bring three different lip colours. A nude, a dark colour and a bright colour. I really like the MUA lipsticks, they are amazingly pigmented and they last a long time, and even more amazingly they only cost £1.00 from superdrug. The colours I like are Bare (my nude shade), Shade 13 (my red shade) and Persian Rose (my bright colour) you can always mix them to make different shades.
And then I would always take a couple of glosses or laquers, I prefer the more pigmented glosses, so that you can wear them alone, and you will still have a beautiful tint of colour. I really like these Loreal Colour Ifallable Glosses, They seem to be really pigmented and bright and fingers crossed they aren't too sticky, as that is a massive pet peeve of mine. These retail for £6.99 at Superdrug. The colours I would pick would be Sayonara Sunset (a bright peach colour), Hot for Hawaii (a bright pink shade) and Protest Queen (a light pink shade)
