So on Wednesday my Mum and Dad, my sister and I went off to London, my mum had told us she was taking us to London on Christmas Day, and that we were going to see a show (which made me so happy!) so on Wednesday we drove to my Uncles home on the outskirts of London, and then we walked to the Tibe station and got the train to Piccadilly Circus to get tickets to see a show, the only tickets we could get for a matinee performance was Wicked, which is one of my favourite shows. So I was very happy with this. My little sister who is 10 has never been to see a musical so we thought this would be a perfect show to give her the theatre bug. So we caught the tube to Victoria Station which is opposite the theatre. We had a coffee and a muffin while we were waiting for the show to open, and then we got to the theatre and Olivia instantly fell in love, we got her a programme and she was looking at all the pictures and then the show started, and I was in love from the first note!
Wicked has always been one of my favourite musicals, it's a prequel to the Wizard of Oz and explains why the witches are they way they are. The beautiful set designs and the amazing vocals are so breathtaking. I recommend this show to anyone who enjoys the theatre, even my Dad who really doesn't like musicals, enjoyed this one!
After the show finished we decided to head to Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park. It was beginning to rain so we didn't want to stay there too long, but my dad wanted to take Olivia on a ride, we had a hot chocolate and then Olivia and my Dad decided to go on the Waltzers, which made my sister so dizzy she could barely stand, it was funny to watch though. Winter Wonderland is lovely, but it's so busy and it would have been a lot better if it was better weather.
After that we decided to get some food, so we headed back to Northolt and then went to a Harvester restaraunt, and we had a lovely meal, but I ended up being very full! We then went to my uncles house for a quick drink and then we headed home. It was a long day, and after about 5 minutes in the car, Olivia was fast asleep. I was very tired and had a good night sleep when I got home!
I love going to London, it always holds a special place in my heart, especially if musicals are involved! I will do a post soon about my favourite musicals, so keep an eye out for that!
Thanks for reading and I will talk to you soon! Thanks for everything and I hope your 2016 is starting well!
